ODIS Series 4 Sand Filters These series 4 sand filters have been used successfully where deep and fine filtration of algae contaminated water is required especially with reservoirs and open tanks. Water is forced at high pressure through a quantity of sand or light gravel. The accumulation of debris at the surface is removed by backflushing the filter to cause agitation of the surface layer and so separate this accumulation and carry it away to waste. In general, the more frequently backflushing occurs, the clearer the filtration medium and so the more effective it remains. This filter will typically remove debris down to 20 micron and should be backflushed automatically every hour.
